Depot Manager & Sales Professional in North Kent
Towers Thompson is an established International Meat and Food Wholesalers and Distributors with over 100 years in the Meat Industry. We are currently making a significant investment in relocating our existing Depot operation at Dunton Green (Kent) to a brand new Wholesale and Production Depot at Northfleet in Kent. Consequently we are looking to fill 2 Sales orientated roles within the Company based at our Northfleet Depot.
Depot Manager
- As Depot manager you will have overall responsibility for the smooth running of the Depot on a daily basis.
- You must have proven sales expertise ideally from working in the Butchery and/or Catering Sectors
- You must have strong leadership skills and be able to lead by example.
- You will have the ability to motivate a diverse team which includes sales, cutting & packing staff and drivers.
Sales Professional
- We are looking for a driven Sales Manager to develop and support our Depot telephone based sales team.
- You will need to visit existing & new customers to develop the business within a 100 mile radius of the Depot.
- You must have extensive Sales Experience with a proven track record in Sales success within a Butchery and/or Catering background. Consideration will be given to those with a general food background.
- You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate the whole Sales team.

Poultry Trader(s) Europe
Towers Thompson is a major importer, exporter and distributor of chilled, frozen and cooked meat and poultry with an annual turnover of £200 million.
In 2008 we aim to expand our market share of the poultry sector. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual/s to develop poultry sales with both new and existing customers. The successful candidate/s will have a considerable pool of experience and contacts within the poultry sector as well as expertise in procuring/selling either cooked or raw poultry throughout Europe and/or worldwide. The ideal candidate/s will also be able to work independently but within a team framework as well as having good communication skills and a desire for personal achievement.

Seafood Trader(s)
In spring 2007 Towers Thompson purchased Rassau Seafood GmbH a specialist Fish Trading company based in Hamburg. We are keen to develop our Group Fish business and are looking to appoint a highly motivated Seafood trader to help to increase our sales in frozen fish in the UK under the guidance of our in-house fish trading specialist Rassau Seafood.
The successful candidate/s will have extensive knowledge, experience and contacts within the fish sector as well as expertise in selling frozen imported fish to the manufacturing, wholesale, food service and retail trades. The ideal candidate/s will also be able to work independently but within a team framework as well as having good communication skills and a desire for personal achievement.

Ideally this position would be based in Towers Thompson’s main trading office in Turnford, Hertfordshire, but for the right candidate location will not be an issue as we have a team of people spread throughout Europe.
