We are pleased to announce that we have recently established a new UK Seafood division located in modern offices close to Grimsby. The unexpected collapse of British Seafood presented us with an opportunity to set up a UK based Seafood Trading Company, “Towers Thompson Seafood Ltd”, which will complement our German Seafood business, Rassau Seafood GmbH, based in Hamburg. The opening of Towers Thompson Seafood Ltd supports our Strategy of becoming a major force in the import and distribution of frozen seafood into the UK and European markets.
The new company will be headed up by Nick Wilson (Managing Director) and Jason Letch (Sales Director) who are supported by an experienced team who were previously part of Bloomsbury International Limited. Towers Thompson Seafood will initially focus predominantly on the import and distribution of cod, haddock, plaice, pangasius, yellow fin sole, squid, salmon and prawns.
TT Seafood will be working closely with both new and existing suppliers and customers as well as collaborating with Rassau to maximise their buying power and ensure that they have continued access to a wide range of products to enable them to meet their customer’s exacting requirements. TT Seafood has already established an exclusive agreement for the supply of top quality single frozen IQF Fish Fillets and portions from Murmansk. Their quality control team is already in place overseeing the production of the first containers which are destined for the UK market.
TT Seafood have a highly motivated and experienced team who we believe are ideally placed to take advantage of a growing demand for top quality imported seafood. With the Group’s financial backing and the support of Rassau Seafood we believe TT Seafood will prove to be a great asset to the Group.
